Maren Morris Celebrates First No. 1 with 'I Could Use a Love Song'

Maren Morris is celebrating a career first.

The country superstar’s “I Could Use a Love Song” becomes her first-ever No. 1 song this week on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase Country charts.

Maren exclusively tells CMT’s Cody Alan what makes “I Could Use a Love Song” different than her previous singles.

“It’s certainly the most vulnerable song I’ve ever put out on the radio, and maybe that’s it,” she said during a recent phone conversation. “I’ve seen people really respond to it over the last year that it’s been on the radio. Maybe it struck a chord it people’s hearts. I think everyone has been heartbroken and needed a love song to pick them up, so maybe that’s what resonated.”

Having previously celebrated a No. 1 with Thomas Rhett as part of his “Craving You” collaboration, Maren celebrates the new honor as both solo performer and songwriter. “

I Could Use a Love Song” also earns the singer her career fifth Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance.
