Sara Evans joined late legend Dan Seals on a duet version of âa song that has lived on for decades.â
Evans performs âNights Are Forever Without Youâ alongside Seals, a member of the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame whose impact on music spans decades and genres. Seals was born in February 1948 in McCamey, Texas. He died of Mantle cell lymphoma in 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 61. Seals was performing in the duo England Dan & John Ford Coley when he released âNights Are Forever Without Youâ in October 1976. A post on the late singer-songwriterâs Instagram account announcing the new version with Evans hails it âa song that has lived on for decades.â
Evansâ duet with the late legend is the latest to arrive from an upcoming Kyle Lehning-produced album, The Last Duet, which the Dan Seals Estate announced on Friday morning. Previous duets that stirred anticipation for the project include Luke Bryanâs âEverything That Glitters (Is Not Gold),â Jamey Johnsonâs âThree Time Loser,â and Jasmine Amy Rogersâ âMy Babyâs Got Good Timing.â

âDan was always true: as a singer, as an artist and as a man,â award-winning producer Lehning said in a statement. âSeeing the way all of these artists responded when they had Danâs voice in their ears shows how that warm truth in his voice still touches people in the best way. The song âStill Reelinââ was Dan reflecting on the effect that Elvis and the early rock nâ rollers had on him as a child, itâs nice to see that people are âstill reelinââ from his music today.â
The Last Duet will release on August 28. Listen to the new version of âNights Are Forever Without Youâ with Evans here:
