Should Grandparents Be Paid To Watch the Kids for a Week Long Vacation?

Lunchbox just got back from vacation with his wife, but while they were gone, their kids stayed behind with his in-laws. Now comes the big debate: should they pay them for babysitting?

Lunchbox's wife thinks $500 would be fair since it’s a lot of work to watch kids for a whole week and that's not even $100 a day. His wife feels like they deserve something because they gave up their time and still had their own expenses while caring for the kids. The tricky part? Nothing was discussed before the trip, so now Lunchbox is left wondering if his wife secretly worked out a deal with them when she dropped them off at the airport.

Eddie admitted he’s never thought about paying his in-laws for watching his kids, and Lunchbox isn’t sure if his wife reached out or if they just volunteered for them to watch in the first place. Morgan shared that when her dad came to watch her animals, she thanked him with a massage and gift card since he didn’t want money, but she still wanted to show her appreciation. Lunchbox did grab his mother-in-law some tea on the way home, but the show thinks he might need to step it up if he wants them to happily babysit again in the future.

Bobby pointed out that a thoughtful gesture, or even some form of payment, goes a long way in showing respect and gratitude. Otherwise, the next time Lunchbox needs a sitter, they may not be so quick to say yes.
