Kesha and Old Crow Medicine Show turned a “delightful idea” into a night of crossover music magic.
The acts join forces tonight for an all-new edition of CMT Crossroads to sing each other’s biggest hits, including Kesha’s “very timely” empowerment anthem “Woman.”
“It’s a really important time of the year for a bunch of men to take on the perspective of a woman,” Old Crow frontman Ketch Secor tells CMT Hot 20 Countdown of singing “Woman.”
According to Kesha, her paring with the Americana string band isn’t as far-fetched as it sounds.
“I grew up on country music,” the Nashville native says, “and Old Crow was one of the bands I always listened to.”
Ketch goes on to call Music City as their “commonality.”
CMT Crossroads: Kesha and Old Crow Medicine Show airs tonight (Dec. 6) at 10/9c on CMT.
